Joining Forces to Promote Positive Change in Washington

Congressional Candidate Ed Winkler Joins the Freshmen 50

PARADISE VALLEY, Ariz. (May 24, 2010) – As Arizona Congressional Candidate Ed Winkler’s campaign gains momentum, the local businessman and former Paradise Valley mayor is taking every opportunity to connect with the GOP base to spur change in Washington. Most recently, Winkler joined the Freshmen 50, an independent political action committee dedicated to put 50 new fiscally and legislatively responsible citizens into the United States House of Representatives in 2010.

“It is remarkable to see all of the interest in developing relationships prior to even being elected to Congress,” said Winkler. “There is a tremendous groundswell of GOP conservative Congressional candidates who want to make considerable change in Washington, not only to the liberal agenda but also to the failed governmental process. I am proud to be amongst such a quality group of people.”

The Freshmen 50 was started in 2009 by Brian Miller, a House of Representatives candidate for Arizona’s 8thCongressional District. Candidates for the organization are chosen based on a combination of their respective chance of success and the degree to which a significant impact on the Washington status quo can be made.

Candidate Ed Winkler is running for Arizona Congressional District 3, currently held by John Shadegg. The District consists of Phoenix, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, Anthem and New River, Ariz. Fiscal responsibility, immigration enforcement, and Homeland Security will be top priorities for Winkler’s campaign, and he will champion conservative Republican ideals.
